I have been thinking of doing marketing later after I learn a skill in ceramics. I think I could earn money if I knew what people are looking for, in general. I have an idea for painting pictures on my pots, pitchers, cups and such. can you give me any ideas of what is popular?
Making ceramics to earn money for

I am thinking of making some ceramic pottery this fall, and I was wondering what kind of pottery does the general public want? I would like to sell my vases, cups, bowls, and etc. once I learn the skill

in response to the ditch digger...   ditch digger, I think you have hit the nail on the head. Its a shame that we cant get back the money we put into the government. you are correct when you say the government is us( the little possum pogo said it best, (you know the cartoon character?) He said" we have met the enemy and he is us" The older I get the more I understand what he ment.

I tried to get money from the government, but it was because the government took so much from me, via taxes.

But I see that there is no way to do this unless I want to make an idiotic study, such as ( I read this once) the time someone got a grant for studying the love life of a frog.

I wonder if anything came of that anyway?

anyway, the government taketh and it doesnt give back

Everyone out in the cyberworld is only after one thing,,,,YOUR CREDIT CARD. No one has ever offered yet to help finance a site without asking for my card. and to this I say PHOOEY
      Animals need discipline, not abuse

Posted in Discussing "Animal Abuse" on May 29, 2011

some people think animal abuse and animal discipline is the same. It isnt. I know. I would never abuse an animal, but I have been accused of it . I dont believe in letting an animal get away with bad behavior. My discipline was never overzealous. The discipline was understood by the animal. And discipline was swift and never over a few seconds.

I owned a horse which I trained from the very beginning. I wont tell you her name, but I will tell you she was the most obediant horse you will ever see. Like all horses, she tested the limits. I never let her get away with bad behavior.

Everything went smoothly for both of us until I made a mistake in judgement. I let someone else board my horse because I was no longer able to take care of her.

This person never disciplined any of his own horses, and his horses were not as well behaved as my own horse. So, this is when I was accused of abusing the horse, just because she needed discipline and I administered it. Abuse is if you keep disciplining up for more than a minuite. I never did.

Perhaps you are asking the wrong questions. I dont know, unless I could talk to you. Perhaps I could help show you what you need. Just saying.

in response to singlemommy2003...   Its hard to get money in this time of economical unrest. So Now is the time when we all have to be strong. Do you believe in the Lord? if you dont, then now is the best time to seek Him and his will. If you know Him as personal savior, trust him that He will show you out of this depression. I just recently came out of mine so I know what its like. My mom passed away in November of 2010. There were times I thought I would lose my mind, but with the help of the church and some friends, and The Lord, I was able to overcome all my adversities. I wish I could help start a berievement group in my town. I am not asking for money, only some advice please. Where do I start my search? Thanks

in response to mamal...   I assume your son is a healthy person, he has to be in order to be able to go to college. If your son wants this education bad enough, he will set out and get a job to pay for his education.

My daughter worked her way though school. It did her good. So, dont worry about paying this. show him he can do it on his own. This is the best way to get an education

in response to budget...   is your daughter healthy ? if she is, then she can get a job working to pay off the loan. Thats what my daughter did when she had taken out a student loan. Its true she did start out working at menial jobs( a fast food place) , but after awhile she was able to get a better job in a grocery store, as fruit and vegetable manager, and yes, she was able to pay off her loan.

in response to Starshine...   It is a shame that so many people advertise for work -at- home jobs, then they take all your money and leave you nothing. I have vowed that I will not give any job opportunity employers my credit card number. If they are legit, they will let me work a little, and then take their cut off my paycheck and send me the rest. this is the only way both parties will benefit.
acreage to invest in, triple your money, farm land, good workers

Posted in Clare on Jan 10, 2011

I wish I could help a friend with her problem. Her main problem is lack of money, and lack of support . She is a good worker, and I think she would make a good manager of a farm, if only she had the money. I have seen her work, and I envy her stamina. There is a farm not far from where I live which could use her touch. But alas, the lack of money is a giant problem. she thinks if she could win the lottery, that would solve her problem. I disagree. The lottery is not for the poor, only the rich get to win. The poor get poorer, the rich get richer. I need a rich investor in our corner. She and I could take the money, and do like the person in the bible. we would make the money go threefold. Anyone want to invest in some land? 40 acres to be precise, with a nice home on it, and a hay vega.

It seems like my talent lies in researching differnt places. does anyone know of where I can do reseach and get paid for it? I am not looking for a handout, just honest work. scams, mortgage, selling notes

Posted in Discussing "foreclosure" on Jan 10, 2011

How can a person know whether a mortgage place is legitimate or not? I and my friend suspect that this mortgage company is a scam. . they continually change places for her to send her payment to, so the payments( apparently) never arive at the new place. Anyway thats what the company tells her. Its true her husband took out the loan, but she has never been able to pay it off. A company shouldnt sell the notes, you know?

I have been reading requests for grants

Posted in Clare on Sep 1, 2010

The more requests I read from different people needing help in funding, and the more I see concerning how some folks got the grant but now they cant get into the business they want because of non-government businesses, the more I am convinced that Grants are few and far between( if they do exist)

Its a shame no one can really go the ABC Route.  What i mean by that is ,,,Remember when you went to school and the teacher would say, "in order to do this you need to ",.A  Make a diagram( reference to naming the differents parts of speach for example.) B.  A sentence needs a verb and a noun.  C......

You get the picture.  So far no one has said, "In order to get a grant, you need to "......

If I knew what it took to tell people how to write a grant request, I would.  that is after I got a grant myself, just to know it works.

There are too many scam artists in this grant business.  They take your money, then you never hear from them again.

If anyone has written a successful grant request and have gotten their request filled, maybe they could teach the rest of us :Free of Charge of course.

Maybe someone has done this.  I have missed the message though.  I sure could use some money myself to start a business , but I need a Grant to do this.  I would help out a friend with this,  who desperately needs help.  She has the brains for managing the  business, once it got started. She could fill out the paperwork as long as no fee is involved.

      In times of economy downturn

Posted in Clare on Aug 23, 2010

There are some people meant to be a head of a business, and some people who are meant to be helpers of a business.  I think I fall in the latter category.

I wont tell you the details of this business, because I dont yet know where this business I am helping will lead to.  I am confident however, that once this business( its private funded) gets its head above water, then you all will know about it.  We will make it. ,Its not a question of IF but When'=============

One of my favorite poems was written by Rudyard Kipling. I have lived my life by it. The title of the poem is If.  I cant tell you word for word ver batem  what it says, but in a nutshell the poem goes like this.==================

If you can keep your wits about you when all other people are losing theirs

If you can lose everything you have ever had and then start up again,

If you can treat kings and paupers both  the same

( I have forgotten the rest of the poem, but you get the picture)

Then my son, you have become a man

(this was written before women's lib.  I am sure Mr Kipling would have said in a footnote, My daughter, you have become a woman.)

      ==================

When I get discouraged, I think of this poem. this poem helps me to "pick myself up, dust myself off, and start again.

+++++++==Life can be good, as long as you dont lose sight of your goal.

I had a goal, many years ago, and I never lost hope.  Now I am living my dream.  You too can live yours.  Just keep the Faith, Pray, and ask continually of the guidance by He  who made us all.

       in response to cindy8...

What kind of business do you want to start?  You must be specific before you can even begin.  Also, can you provide the things that are needed in your community?  Look around you.  You will see something that your neighbors need. or that the community you live in need.  The next question you need to ask yourself, " What does the government require( tax ID, etc.)

I would like to start a business too, but I wont attempt it until I know what the government expects of an entreprenuer.

Just dont expect a hand out from grants, and dont give grant funding programs any money in hopes of getting some back.

Keep the faith.  You will make it financially, and under your own steam.

As I see it, you are doing the best you know how, and that is a blessing in itself.  I pray that you will maintain your courage until such time as things make a turn around.

"Believe in the Lord, and all things will come to you in the end"

This  is paraphrased, but believe it.  You will receive what you need, in time.

I know this will be of little comfort to you, probably, but I say this in all sincerity.

Sometimes when one door closes, such as you owning your own business, another one opens.  I feel you will start buiding again, but you must ask your creator for guidance.

It is written"  You have not because you ask not."

Now this works, because I prayed for many years for a horse of my own.  and of course a place to keep him or her. I now own that horse, and am training another one.

I started wishing for one when I was 8 years old.  I didnt get one till I was in my 50's.  I pray you dont have to wait long for your prayers to be answered.  One thing you shouldnt do,,,,,Sit around waiting for grants .  I am sorry, but too many of my friends have not gotten their money from grants. They got it from working hard.

      I am a

      Disbeliever of Grant Fundings.

by applying, You may be wasting your time and /or money,

Posted in Government Grants on Aug 22, 2010

Ok, I am going to tell everyone who wants to know about grants, what I have learned from friends who have applied for them.

When one of  my friends applied for a grant so she could do rescue work, she was asked to send the organization some  money for the processing, so she did.  Well, Guess what?  She has never heard from this place  again after she sent her money .  The outfit took her money though.  And this was over a month ago. They have never replied to her request, and they have never sent her any funds.

I have come to the  following conclusion that all grants are probably  this way, unless you know the people who are handing the money out personally.

I dont know any fundmakers.  If anyone  who is seeking

help from grants, someone who isnt with the same organization, then let the rest of us know.

People who take money, and dont send some back in return, in my opinion they are like the thief in the night.

This doesnt have anything to do with a need for a grant, but this is something which has been on my mind for some time.  So far the Lord has sent the rain to our community before our lawns got too dry( I havent had to do any watering this year), but there may come a time when we will get into a drought period again.

Ok, here is the problem.   Our city council has put the minimum water useage up so high, ($71.08 per month and thats minimum)  that no one can afford to water their lawns if said lawns need it.  I know of one person who did water her grass and then she had to pay $100 that month.

My question,,,,what should we do if the weather goes dry on us?  I know I cant afford $100 a month just to keep the grass from dying, and I dont think anyone else can either.  I wouldnt recommend anyone moving here.  We dont even have a place for our downed tree limbs anymore.  Our dump is completly closed.

Ok, thats all I have to say for now

If you have a community where a lot of folks will donate money for the cause, someone in your town could get up a fun day fund raiser.  I live in a small town, and I remember one summer someone donated the use of their rodeo arena for some fun things people can do with their horses( barrel racing, goat tying, relay race, etc.) The public was invited, and was informed that all the money they gave would go to this girl. She was going to the doctor at the time and taking treatments for her cancer.  As I recall, there was quite a crowd which came to the fund raiser.
